Covert Joins Other VIPs for Table Read of Nick Jonas’ New Play

Assistant Professor of Theatre Kevin Covert, B.F.A., joined other VIPs for a table read of his friend Nick Jonas’ first dramatic play. Jonas started writing “Dessert First” while on the set of “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.” The reading occurred in conjunction with Jonas’ birthday celebrations. Covert has a long association and friendship with Jonas. Back in 2012, Covert wrote a piece for Backstage about working with both his table-read compatriot Darren Criss and Jonas during the Broadway revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” More recently, along with the table read, Covert is one of the friends shown in recent birthday weekend photos posted on Instagram by Jonas’ fiancé and shared in People magazine
