Schmieg To Be Honored With Athletic Training Educator Of The Year Award

Shenandoah AT Program Director To Receive Award In January 2019

The Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association (VATA) is honoring Program Director and Associate Professor of Athletic Training Rose Schmieg, DHSc, LAT, ATC, PT, CSCS, CISSN, with the 2019 Virginia Athletic Trainer Educator of the Year Award.

This award is given annually at the VATA Annual Meeting in January to honor an athletic trainer who works in the education setting and is considered by their peers to be an invaluable member of the athletic training community in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In order to qualify for this honor, nominees must be a current BOC-certified athletic trainer, be licensed to practice athletic training in Virginia, be a member of the VATA, and must be nominated by a member of the VATA (no self-nominations accepted).

Dr. Schmieg will be honored at the VATA Annual Meeting on Saturday, Jan. 12, in Williamsburg.
