Shores ’99 Mixes and Masters Grammy Award-winning “Songs of Orpheus”

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music Production & Recording Technology Dan Shores ’99, B.M., mixed and mastered “Songs of Orpheus,” featuring Karim Sulayman & Apollo’s Fire, the winner of Best Classical Solo Vocal Album at this month’s Grammy Awards. He was also nominated in the Best Immersive Audio Album category for his work on the album “Seven Words from the Cross” by the vocal ensemble Skylark.

Shores is a four-time Grammy nominee (two for Best Surround Sound Album, one for Best Engineered Classical Album, one for Best Immersive Audio Album) and has recorded, mixed and mastered albums accounting for 20 Grammy nominations and one Latin Grammy win. Shores served as the head of the Sono Luminus record label from 2006 to 2014, and continues to serve as the label’s head engineer. In addition to Sono Luminus, Shores has recorded albums for Bridge Records, Naxos, RCA Red Seal, Koch, Hänssler Classics and the Steinway & Sons record label, accounting for well over 150 albums.
