Recent graduates post outstanding exam performances and faculty members earn advanced degrees

Shenandoah’s 2019 graduates from both the Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner programs have a 100% licensing exam pass rate. The national average for first-time pass rates is typically between 85% and 89%.

Professor of Nursing Sharron Guillett, RN, Ph.D., wrote a chapter in the book, “Wellness and Disability in Disability as Diversity: A Guidebook for Inclusion in Medicine, Nursing and the Health Professions.” A companion case study book will be published soon.

Nursing student Lindsay Hoffman ’23, and School of Nursing administrative assistant Donna Hoffman recently volunteered at Loudoun Makersmiths in Leesburg, Virginia, assembling and packaging face shields, which were then donated to the medical providers and staff at the Sinclair Health Clinic in Winchester. Makersmiths Inc., a community-based nonprofit, has generously made and donated over 1,100 face shields to health care workers and first responders as part of its COVID-19 response effort.
