Dear members of the Shenandoah community,
We began this semester with not only an abundance of planning but also a great deal of faith in our ability to work together as a community to provide a safe, in-person learning environment for us all. So much felt as if it was in that realm of “things not seen,” as we ventured into tremendously new educational territory.
We had hope, back in August, that all would work out as well as possible. We had faith. But so little was known about how the pandemic would affect Shenandoah. Even with the best-laid plans, could we make this happen? Could we stay open?
We have now learned the answer. Yes, we could, and you – our Shenandoah Community – are the reason why.
You took this virus seriously. You wore your masks, changed your teaching methods, maintained social distance, washed your hands, gathered virtually, learned online and in-person, and created, administered and underwent surveillance testing. Your conscientiousness, creativity, and innovative spirit brought us to this point.
You all are truly the best gift Shenandoah has ever received.
Thank you for everything you’ve done this year, and I hope you enjoy this holiday video that celebrates you — our extraordinary Shenandoah community.
With my best wishes for happy holidays and a Happy New Year,
Tracy
