Faculty in Eric Byrd Trio Win Washington Area Music Award for Jazz Recording of the Year

The Baltimore-based Eric Byrd Trio — featuring Adjunct Assistant Professor of Jazz Piano Eric Byrd, M.M., M.A., and Adjunct Associate Professor of Jazz Percussion Alphonso Young Jr., M.M., along with bassist Bhagwan Khalsa — recently won a Washington Area Music Award for Jazz Recording of the Year for the recording “Twenty.”

The trio was also recognized by governor Larry Hogan and the state of Maryland for 20 years of artistic merit in the arts.
