Marchment Directs Rossini Opera at Opera Festival of Chicago

Director of Opera and Associate Professor Ella Marchment, B.M., will direct Rossini’s “L’Inganno Felice” at Opera Festival of Chicago. Marchment also serves as the artistic director at Opera Festival of Chicago. The melodrama with comic elements is conducted by Emanuele Andrizzi and features an international cast, including tenor Kenneth Tarver, soprano Katherine Beck, bass baritone Frank DeVincentis, baritone Alexander Adams-Leyte and baritone Matthew Ciuffitelli. Gregory Keng Strasser, who recently directed Shenandoah Conservatory’s Acting Incubator Project “The Song of Achilles” in April, serves as the associate director for the opera production.
