Interim Vice Presidents To Assume Permanent Roles in Shenandoah’s Office of Administration & Finance

Courtney Jarrett named VP for finance, CFO; Phil Evans named VP for administration, continues as general counsel

In an effort to lay the infrastructure for the university to grow, President Tracy Fitzsimmons, Ph.D., announced that the interim vice president roles of Courtney Jarrett ’07, former assistant vice president for finance and controller, and Phil Evans, former assistant vice president for administration and general counsel, will become permanent effective July 1.

For the past six months, they have jointly led the Office of Administration & Finance and have done a tremendous job covering their existing positions while taking on additional responsibilities as interim vice presidents. Their extra efforts are greatly appreciated and they both received excellent reviews on the Annual Survey, from their direct reports, and from the Board of Trustees.

The university is pleased to be able to offer existing staff internal growth opportunities and pathways to elevate their careers. It’s notable that Courtney, who will be the vice president for finance and chief financial officer, is a 2007 graduate of Shenandoah’s School of Business and has worked at SU since 2013. Phil has been at SU since 2017 and will continue to serve as the university’s general counsel in addition to being the vice president for administration.

Please thank Courtney and Phil for their tireless efforts and congratulate them on their new roles at Shenandoah.
