Pharmacy/Public Health Student Receives National Accolade

Derek King '23 Honored by the U.S. Public Health Service

Shenandoah University Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Public Health student Derek King ’23, has been recognized as a United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Excellence in Public Health Pharmacy Award recipient. Out of the 88 recipients from across the country, the USPHS Pharmacist Professional Advisory Committee Student Awards Program selected King as one of its Top 10 recipients for leading collaboration between community pharmacies and police departments to dispose of unused medications and policy development to improve public health education in pharmacy curricula.
