Angel ’26 Wins MTNA Regional Division Competition, Advances to National Finals

Darian Angel ’26 (Bachelor of Music in Performance) won the Southern Division level of the Music Teachers National Association’s (MTNA) Young Artists Performance Competition in the woodwind category. Representing the state of Virginia, Angel was selected as the winner from entrants representing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. He will compete in the national finals of the competition in March in Atlanta, Georgia. He won the Virginia state level of the competition back in October. Angel studies with Anna Lee van Buren Endowed Chair in Clarinet, Coordinator of Winds and Percussion and Professor of Clarinet Garrick Zoeter, M.M.
