Shenandoah University To Participate In Virginia Private College Week

Prospective students who visit SU during week of July 15-20 will be entered to win an Amazon gift card and are eligible for application fee waiver

Shenandoah University will join other private higher education institutions across the commonwealth by taking part in Virginia Private College Week, sponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV), from July 15-20.

Throughout the week, Shenandoah will provide tours of its main campus in Winchester and hold information sessions about academic programs, admissions, financial aid and student life. Info sessions and tours will be held twice daily (at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.) from Monday, July 15, to Friday, July 19, and a 9 a.m. info session and tour will be available on Saturday, July 20. Please note that due to performance schedules, tours of Shenandoah Conservatory’s theatre spaces are limited to the 9 a.m. sessions on July 17-20. The theatre spaces will not be available during the afternoon sessions.

Prospective students and their families must register in advance to visit Shenandoah University during Virginia Private College Week. Please visit apply.su.edu/portal/vpcw to register and to view the morning and afternoon info session/tour schedules.

Campus visits are a vital piece of the college search process, as they provide prospective students and their families the opportunity to form a deeper understanding of the various institutions that exist throughout the country. Many important questions are answered during these visits, giving students a clearer picture of which schools will put them in the best possible position to succeed.

Virginia Private College Week is a great opportunity to visit many different private colleges throughout the commonwealth. It allows students to visit multiple colleges in a single day over the course of a full week, giving them the chance to better understand what they’re looking for in a college and, ultimately, which schools might be an excellent fit for them. Summer is often a quieter time for college campuses, but VPCW is still a great starting point for any student’s college search process.”

Andy Woodall, Shenandoah University’s assistant vice president for recruitment and admissions

Prospective students who visit Shenandoah during VPCW are eligible to receive an application fee waiver. For each college that a prospective student visits during this week, their name will be entered into a drawing for one of five $100 Amazon gift cards.
