Transitioning to Dorico: A Practical Seminar for Professional Composers

The recent news of MakeMusic discontinuing Finale has had a seismic effect on the music community. After creating a path for Finale-users to move to Steinberg’s Dorico software, there is a need to assist composers around the world with the adjustment. Director of Composition, Coordinator of New Music and Associate Professor of Composition Jonathan Newman, M.M., will host a free webinar on transitioning to Dorico at 7 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, Sept. 15. Moderated by composer Joel Puckett ’99 (Bachelor of Music in Composition), and featuring a panel of longtime Finale-using composers including Steven Bryant, Roshanne Etezady and John Mackey, this will be a practical seminar on transitioning to Dorico for professional composers. Visit su.edu/dorico to access the webinar. The webinar will be recorded and available for public viewing after the event.
