Key Performs and Records with Italian Pianist Matteo Cardelli for Switzerland Project

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Oboe Stephen Key, Performance Diploma, recently traveled to England, Switzerland, Germany and France to perform and record with the award-winning Italian pianist Matteo Cardelli. The series, “Songs of Love and Death,” highlighted works not originally for oboe, reimagined for the oboe, and included music by Clara Schumann, Olivier Messiaen and Lilli Boulanger. The latter two composers will be featured on a soon-to-be-released album with DF Recordings based in Switzerland. The journey culminated in a performance and class at Germany’s acclaimed Staatliche Hochschule für Musik – Trossingen after an invitation by world-renowned solo oboist, Nicholas Daniel, OBE.
