Coleman ’18 Collaborates with Garrett on Publication of ‘Accessible and Beautiful’

Edryn J. Coleman ’18 (Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Education – Choral) collaborated with Marques L. A. Garrett to compile and edit “Accessible and Beautiful: Repertoire for Mixed Voices to Encourage Connection and Growth,” a new anthology recently published by Oxford University Press. This collection provides an accessible repertoire for mixed-voice choirs alongside teaching tools such as warm-ups, rehearsal notes and pronunciation guides. The 30 pieces have been specially compiled to encourage connection and growth for singers and their audiences by featuring a mixture of choir favourites and new music published here for the first time.

Dr. Coleman is a choral music educator and conductor. He currently teaches chamber choir, concert choir, and piano at Oakland Mills High School, and serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and as the conductor for the Prince George’s County Choral Society.
