Sephardic Art Song: From Folk Roots to Classical Heights,” a research article by Assistant Professor of Vocal Pedagogy Lori Şen, D.M.A., was published in the March/April 2025 volume of the Journal of Singing. The article traces the historical and linguistic journey of the Sephardim, detailing how their folk traditions evolved into sophisticated art songs while preserving Ladino texts. It also examines musical elements, performance practices, Ladino lyric diction and the contributions of composers who have expanded this repertoire, ultimately advocating for the recognition and performance of Sephardic Art Song in the classical vocal tradition.

Şen also joined the ensemble Trio Sefardi as a guest vocalist in a recital program of Sephardic songs, which was performed at the Spanish Cultural Center in Washington, D.C, on March 11. The event was organized by the Embassy of Spain in D.C. and Sephardic Heritage International.
