Edwards ’15 Shares Approach to Training Singers Around the World During Sabbatical

Artistic Director of the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute, Coordinator of Musical Theatre Voice and Associate Professor of Voice & Musical Theatre Matt Edwards ’15, D.M.A., has spent his sabbatical sharing his unique approach to training musical theatre performers and commercial singers with other teachers and singers around the world. In March, he taught a workshop in Phoenix, Arizona, for voice teachers and student members of the Valley of the Sun chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). He then traveled to Gliwice, Poland, to work with members of the Stowarzyszenie Wokalistów MIX / Mix Singers Association on the practical application of voice science for American musical theatre and commercial styles. In April, he travelled to Florida Atlantic University and Florida International University to present musical theatre masterclasses in collaboration with the South Florida Chapter of NATS. He has also been active with international groups online, presenting for the Big5 Summit and the 5th Annual Power of Voice online symposium.

Follow Edwards on TikTok and Instagram @Edwards_Voice or work with him this summer at the Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) Vocal Pedagogy Institute from July 12 through July 20. Visit www.ccminstitute.com to learn more and register.
