Shenandoah University’s School of Health Professions Honored at Sinclair Health Clinic’s Terry Awards

By Natalie Gales ’25

On March 20, Shenandoah University and Sinclair Health Clinic celebrated their partnership at the 2025 Terry Awards ceremony. Dr. Terry Sinclair, clinic co-founder for whom the awards were named, was known for “his enduring legacy of compassion, service, and community impact,” according to the clinic. The awards recognize individuals and organizations who continue to honor his mission of providing healthcare to the local community.

At the ceremony, Shenandoah University’s School of Health Professions received the 2025 Outstanding Community Partner Award, and Erika Francis, D.M.S., interim director of the Division of Physician Assistant Studies, and President Tracy Fitzsimmons, Ph.D., represented the university at the event. Dr. Colette Sabbagh, board chair of the Sinclair Health Clinic, commended the students’ multidisciplinary approach to care, and Dr. Fitzsimmons accepted the award on behalf of the School of Health Professions.

Receiving this award highlights the positive impact of Shenandoah University’s School of Health Professions and Sinclair Health Clinic’s collaborative efforts,” Dr. Francis said. “Over the years, our physician assistant, physical therapy, and occupational therapy students have actively engaged with patients through our multidisciplinary evening clinic. This partnership exemplifies Shenandoah’s commitment to community engagement, aligns with our core university values, and serves as a valuable model of professional service and behavior for our students.”
