Hawkins ’27 Performs with Heritage Signature Chorale at Kennedy Center

Donnie Hawkins ’27 (Bachelor of Music in Performance – Voice) was selected as a guest ensemble member for the esteemed Heritage Signature Chorale, performing at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. This opportunity included two live performances in the Concert Hall for the National Symphony Orchestra’s holiday pops concert “A Holiday Pops! with Melinda Doolittle” on Saturday, Dec. 13, where he shared the stage with the orchestra and “American Idol’s” Melinda Doolittle.

“I am so thankful to have been selected to sing at the Kennedy Center,” said Hawkins. “Making my debut at the Kennedy Center as a performer was more than what I have dreamed of. Being able to learn from Maestro Reineke, Melinda Doolittle and Dr. Stanley Thurston was not only an honor, but a privilege. Each of them taught me valuable music and life lesson skills that I am super grateful to bring back to Shenandoah Conservatory to further my education.”
