Saxophone Students Perform at International Saxophone Symposium

Two ensembles from Shenandoah Conservatory’s saxophone studio were invited to perform at the International Saxophone Symposium in Fairfax, Virginia, earlier this month. The Parea Saxophone Quartet and the 10-member Saxophone Collective each presented performances to capacity audiences as part of the nationally recognized event.

A highlight of the performances was the premiere of a new arrangement of Will Gregory’s “Hoedown” for saxophone dectet by Cliff Hernandez ’26 (Bachelor of Music in Composition). Shenandoah’s groups were selected through a competitive national application process for university saxophone ensembles.
