On March 5, Marjorie Lewis (C, AS ’81) and her husband, John, were honored at the Community Foundation of the Northern Shenandoah Valley’s annual Community Stars gala for their legacy of generosity, community leadership, and impact across the Northern Shenandoah Valley. (pictured right)

Adolpho Blaire (C ’01) performed as Bud Davenport in “Gutenberg the Musical” at the TheaterZone in Naples, Florida. 

On Feb. 27, Wendy May (B ’04,’02) was named interim director of the Frederick County Economic Development Authority in Winchester, Virginia.

On Feb. 9, Said Aziz (B ’04)was hired as the head football coach at Oakton High School in Vienna, Virginia. (pictured right)

On Feb. 24, Brian Barbour (E ’09) was appointed assistant principal at Admiral Richard E. Byrd Middle School, a Frederick County Public School, located in Winchester, Virginia.

On March 12, Kelly Botta (HP ’09) won the Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber’s Greater Good Awards.

On Feb. 12, Schyler Conaway (C ’11) appeared in the first episode of “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette” on FX.

On March 12, Lauren Clouse (AS ’16) won the Emerging Leader award for the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber’s Greater Good Awards.

Nisa Mercado (C ’20) performed in the ensemble for the first national tour ofRent in Concert.”

Boomer Rose (AS, C ’23) was selected as one of the two finalists for this year’s Eagle Venture Fund Freedom Tech Pitch.

Alumni Passings

Elaine Chrisley (N ’98, ’00) of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away on March 10, 2026. (pictured right)

Faculty/Staff Passings

Reverend James Madison “Jim” Peyton of Bunker Hill, West Virginia, passed away on Jan. 24, 2026. He served as office coordinator for the School of Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program at SU from April 2001 until his retirement in Feb. 2008.
