Coulson Presents Research Paper at Sewanee Medieval Colloquium

Associate Dean for Faculty & Academic Affairs and Professor of Theatre Carolyn Coulson, Ph.D., presented her paper, “The Risks and Rewards of Performing Resistance,” at the Sewanee Medieval Colloquium, held at The University of the South, on April 10 and April 11. The colloquium’s theme was Refuge and Resistance, and Dr. Coulson’s paper explored the process of rehearsing and performing “The Slaughter of the Innocents” at the York Cycle 2025 in Toronto. Shenandoah Conservatory student and faculty experience and training was foregrounded in the paper. Coulson’s performance-based research agenda also includes a forthcoming article in a special issue of the journal Early Theatre.
