Shenandoah University Announces 2026 SURE Award Winners

Twenty-seven students were recognized for outstanding research

The Shenandoah University Research Expo (SURE) showcased the depth, creativity, and rigor of student scholarship during its two-day event on April 28-29 at the Hazel-Pruitt Armory, and 27 students were announced as winners in 11 award categories following the conclusion of the annual expo.

Award winners for SURE 2026 were:

Alpha Chi Prize – Top-Scoring Individual Presentation at SURE

  • Undergraduate (tie): Matthew Conroy, Kenneth Cassada 
  • Graduate (tie): Maggie Huynh, Danielle Bower

Outstanding Recorded Presentation

  • By group: Heather Powers, Ashley Dodd, Sujin Jeung, Kyle Cusack, Kymaira Graczkowski and Taylor Walls
  • By individual: Isabel Rogers

Outstanding Poster

  • By group, undergraduate: Matthew Conroy and Brenden Maloy
  • By group, graduate: Sarah Schultz, Brittany James, Brianna Smith, Rachel Hickey and Michelle Campbell
