Shure Representative Leads Microphone Masterclass for Audio Students
Senior specialist Yuri Lysoivanov of Shure recently presented a masterclass on microphones and wireless microphone systems for students in the music production and recording technology (MPRT) program’s sound reinforcement class taught by Adjunct Instructor of Music Production & Recording Technology James Welsh. The session focused on wireless microphone technology and its applications within the modern sound reinforcement industry.
The masterclass was open to students studying audio and recording across multiple programs, including collaborative audio arts and sound design and reinforcement for theatre. Students explored the practical use of wireless microphone systems, which are widely utilized throughout Shenandoah University performance and athletic venues, including Armstrong Concert Hall, Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre, Shentel Stadium, Wilkins Athletics & Events Center, and Goodson Chapel – Recital Hall.
Students also participated in a studio microphone comparison clinic featuring a range of microphones currently produced by Shure. The event concluded with a microphone giveaway awarded to Cadence Vera Cruz ’28 (Bachelor of Arts in Collaborative Audio Arts).
