EP for New Rock Musical ‘Romero and Juliet,’ Co-Created by Logsdon ’84, Now Streaming

An EP featuring five songs from “Romero and Juliet,” a new rock musical co-created by librettist and lyricist Scott Logsdon ’84 (Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre) and composer Aaron Gandy, is now available on more than 20 streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and Amazon Music. The musical blends Shakespeare’s timeless love story with the zombie lore of filmmaker George Romero.

The recording features Broadway performers Kate Rockwell (“Mean Girls,” “Bring It On” and Off-Broadway’s “Heathers”) as Notre Dame and Jack Baugh (“The Book of Mormon”) as Romero, alongside two performers from the musical’s sold-out world premiere: Max Suwarno ’24 (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre) as Cutie O and Makayla Wynn as Juliet.

Featuring a book and lyrics by Logsdon, whose Broadway credits include “Les Misérables,” and music by Gandy, whose Broadway credits include “The Lion King” and “Urinetown,” “Romero and Juliet” is set in Verona, Pennsylvania, in September 1985. The story follows Regional Guardsman Romero George, a distant relative of the filmmaker, who meets zombie Juliet at a music festival called Deadstock on Friday the 13th. What could possibly go wrong?

Directed by Logsdon, the musical received its sold-out world premiere at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Greer Cabaret Theatre, produced by BDE Productions. The premiere followed a concert presentation at The Cutting Room in New York City on the Day of the Dead in 2025.

The EP features music direction by Jason Loffredo and orchestrations by Adam Wiggins. Several additional productions of “Romero and Juliet” have been licensed for 2027.
