Shenandoah School of Business Graduates Join Inaugural Virginia Athletics Foundation Intern Cohort

Janelle Anderson ’25, ’26 and Jessica Littlejohn '26

Shenandoah University’s School of Business has always taken pride in preparing students to step straight from the classroom into high-impact roles. That tradition continues with the announcement that Janelle Anderson ’25, ’26 (Bachelor of Business Administration – sport management concentration/MBA) and Jessica Littlejohn ’26 (Bachelor of Business Administration – sport management concentration) have been selected for the inaugural Virginia Athletics Foundation (VAF) Year-Long Intern Cohort.

Anderson completed her undergraduate degree in 2025 before earning her Master of Business Administration in 2026. Her combination of business acumen and advanced leadership preparation makes her a versatile asset to the VAF team as they drive development and donor engagement strategies. In addition, Anderson was a four-year member of the SU women’s track and field team and an assistant coach during graduate school.

“Shenandoah prepared me for this opportunity by their commitment to make sure we could achieve our dreams. Through the personal relationships with professors to the experiential learning trips, the business school was there every step of the way. SU became one of the biggest pillars in my career and truly helped transform the skills and leadership qualities I needed to become successful,” Anderson said.

Littlejohn builds on a solid foundation in business principles, sport management, and hands-on professional experience, positioning her to excel in the fast-paced environment of Division I athletics administration. A four-year member of the SU women’s basketball team, Littlejohn led the team to two NCAA tournament appearances.

Shenandoah prepared me for this opportunity by giving me the knowledge, experiences, and confidence to pursue a career in collegiate athletics. My time as a student-athlete and involvement in the Sport Business Association helped me develop the skills and connections that I continue to carry with me in my role at the VAF,” Littlejohn said.

The VAF year-long internship offers a comprehensive dive into collegiate athletics fundraising, donor relations, event execution, and sports administration. As part of the internship’s first  class, Anderson and Littlejohn are helping set the standard for future cohorts while representing Shenandoah on a prominent statewide stage.
