Student Handbook

The Shenandoah University Student Handbook is intended to serve as a convenient reference that brings together information about student life, university resources, and commonly referenced University policies. It is designed to help students locate important information and better understand the expectations and opportunities associated with being a member of the Shenandoah University community.

This handbook is provided for informational and convenience purposes only. The University’s official policies, procedures, academic requirements, and regulations are contained in the University’s Academic Catalog, official University policies, and information published on the University’s official website. In addition, individual schools, colleges, academic programs, departments, and University offices may maintain policies, procedures, standards, or requirements that apply specifically to students within those areas. Because University policies, procedures, and website content may be updated throughout the academic year, students should consult the official source whenever they need the most current information. Students are responsible for becoming familiar with, and complying with, all applicable University and program-specific requirements.

If there is any inconsistency between this handbook and the Academic Catalog, an official University policy, a program-specific policy, or information published on the University’s official website, the official source will control.

Shenandoah University reserves the right to revise, amend, interpret, or discontinue any policy, procedure, program, or information described in this handbook or in other University publications at any time, with or without prior notice, as permitted by law. Nothing in this handbook creates a contract or guarantees any particular policy, procedure, benefit, or outcome.

If there are any questions or concerns about the catalog, please direct them to the Office of Student Affairs.
