LET’S GO HORNETS, LET’S GO!
The Hornet Cheerleaders represent the spirit of Shenandoah University! Cheerleaders consist of members of the student body with different majors and backgrounds, but all share the same love for Shenandoah University and the sport of cheerleading. Cheerleading at Shenandoah University is both challenging and rewarding. Each cheerleader works hard to perfect their individual skills and acquire new ones. The Hornet Cheerleaders serve as positive representatives for the University and lead the crowd in support of Shenandoah Athletics. Coaches for the Hornet Cheerleaders promote the success of each individual while emphasizing teamwork and safety. The Hornet Cheerleaders are on their way to being one of the best in their division!
The Hornet Cheerleaders sideline team cheers and performs at all home football games and men’s basketball games. Participation during games includes entertaining halftime performances with crowd cheers, stunts, and tumbling. In addition to sideline cheerleading, the Hornet Cheerleaders also participate in competitive cheerleading. The competition team attends stunt clinics, tumbling classes at a local all-star competitive gym, and choreography camp to prepare for their routine which includes elite stunts, tumbling, and pyramids. Preparation for games and competition requires a commitment to practice 2-3 times per week. Outside of games and competitions, the Hornet Cheerleaders participate in community events, such as the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival parade, and fundraisers.
