Shenandoah University maintains an outpatient health center and provides outpatient medical treatment for acute and minor illness and injury.
There is no charge for an office visit at the Wilkins Wellness Center. There is a minimal charge for physical examination, gynecological examinations, immunizations, and laboratory tests. These charges are billed to the student’s account.
The Wilkins Wellness Center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesday and Thursday the Wellness Center will be open 9 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Center does not have walk-in appointments at this time. We are available via email or phone from 9-5 Monday through Friday. At this time we ask that you contact us at (540) 665-4530 or wwcenter@su.edu with your questions. We are available to assist you regarding referrals for care or concerns regarding immunizations or paperwork as well as scheduling appointments for counseling services.
Durning hours of operation, the health center is staffed by a registered nurse. The Advanced Practitioner’s hours vary and are scheduled by appointment only. All health records are confidential and not connected to academic records in any way.
Campus medical services are not intended to meet the needs of serious illness or accident.
Students too ill to attend class should arrange medical attention during regular health center hours. The student is responsible for all academic work missed due to illness.

Over-the-Counter Medication
A variety of over-the-counter medications are offered at no charge.

A variety of Women’s health issues are available to all students, faculty, and staff.

A variety of men’s health assessment is available to all students, faculty, and staff.
Immunizations and Travel
Prescriptions are available for those seeking to travel outside the USA. Center for Disease Control information on immunizations are reviewed and discussed for area of travel.
Training/Educational Courses
Nurse Educator and staff are available to meet your programming needs.
Health Presentations
Presentations on a variety of health and wellness topics are available. Many formal informal training sessions and individual training are available to meet the educational needs of the SU Community.

To assist the college in providing appropriate care, all students are required to present a completed health form including immunization record and insurance. If the student does not have insurance, an insurance policy may be purchased through the University’s approved insurance company.
