The Math Enrichment Center is a welcoming and trusted environment for students to seek mathematical help with homework, material review, and test preparation.
The MEC is located in Howe 107, next to Institutional Computing.
The MEC is open for drop-in tutoring Monday-Thursday from 3-6pm.

Drop-In Tutoring: No appointment needed!
Drop-in tutoring is recommended for students in Math 099, 101, and 102, and students seeking basic math assistance in non-math courses. There are no appointments, just show up when it is convenient for you.
Drop-In Tutoring Hours for Spring 2016
Scheduled Appointment Tutoring: Find the time and tutor that works for you!
Scheduled appointment tutoring is recommended for students in Math 100, 201, and 207, and students in non-math courses, including education, physics, nursing, chemistry, and business. Scheduled appointment tutoring provides a one-on-one tutoring experience at a time and location of your choice with a tutor prepared for your course.
Precalculus Study Hours: Work with our embedded tutor!
All Math 101 and 102 students have the opportunity to work with our embedded tutor Courtney. As part of the embedded tutor program, she visits the precalculus classes regularly and holds extended precalculus study hours. These hours operate similar to our drop-in hours but are exclusively for precalculus students!
Extended Precalculus Hours are held in Gregory 114.

Outreach: Specialized math assistance for other disciplines!
In an effort serve more of the university community, the Math Enrichment is happy to offer special review sessions and programs for other disciplines. These programs include:
- PRAXIS Math review for Education majors
- Measurement and conversions review for Nursing majors
- Basic Math Skills review for General Chemistry students
Could your class or major use a special program? Let us know and we’d be happy to work with your department’s faculty to provide math assistance which caters to your discipline’s needs.
Meet the MEC Tutors
Gabe is an exercise science major and a member of the SU golf team.
Her tutoring specialties include Mathematical Thinking, Precalculus 1 and 2, and Math in Chemistry Courses.
Randy is a Piano Performance and Jazz studies major and competitive singer.
His tutoring specialties include Algebra, Mathematical Thinking, Precalculus 1 and 2, Calculus, Statistics, and Math in Economics courses and BIO 101.
Nick is a Mathematics major and this summer he rode his bike over 1000 miles.
His tutoring specialties include Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, PRAXIS review, and Math in Physics Courses.
Courtney is a Mathematics major, plans to be an actuary, and enjoys kayaking.
Her tutoring specialties include Algebra, Mathematical Thinking, Precalculus 1 and 2, and Math in Business courses.
Diana is a Biology and Public Health Major. She is in the Army Reserves and plans to be a brain surgeon.
Her tutoring specialties include Statistics, and Math is Chemistry and Education courses.
Max is a Mathematics major and plays cymbals in the SU band and hand percussion at WNL/CN@N.
His tutoring specialties include Algebra, Precalculus 1 and 2, and Math in Education courses.
