Students Explore Theatrical Design at International Conference in Prague During GEL Trip

From June 5 through June 13, seven students visited the Czech Republic to experience the Prague Quadrennial Global Experiential Learning (GEL) trip with Assistant Professor of Theatre – Lighting Design Andrew Carson, M.F.A., and Costume Designer and Associate Professor of Theatre Cheryl Yancey M.F.A. The group attended the international theatrical design and pedagogy conference held every four years in Prague. This international conference and exhibition is widely heralded as the international design equivalent of the Olympics. The program explored design and technology in the theatre in a global context via experiential learning through observation and participation in the Prague Quadrennial as well as the international arts scene in Prague.
