ShenCoTRUTH: Reflections By Shenandoah Conservatory Students

Mathilde Handelsman ’20

Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance (Piano)

I’ve been baking a lot, mostly bread. There’s nothing like the smells of warm, homemade bread in the morning, and the joy of seeing it rise in the oven. The apartment is gradually turning into a French bakery — well, okay, maybe not, but we all have dreams. Making baguette next!

Jamie Hill ’21

Master of Science in Performing Arts Leadership & Management

I’ve really started cooking a great deal. I’ve always enjoyed it, but rarely had the time. I can’t say THAT anymore! Here you will see my Italian Stuffed Shells, they were amazing!

Brianna Jaeger ’21

Master of Music in Collaborative Piano

Even though I grew up in Charleston, SC, and participated in social swing dance events, I never mastered ‘The Charleston’ dance. So, I decided to brush up on relearning the dance and start working on tap as well.

Meredith Kennedy ’23

Bachelor of Music in Performance (Violin)

I’ve started painting mini figurines for tabletop games!

Nick Villacorte ’23

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting

I’ve started creating episodes of my own version of “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” talking about quarantine and COVID-19 subjects. Pictured is a screenshot from my episode on “Toilet Paper.”
