Carson’s Lighting Director Work in ‘Considering Matthew Shepard’ Airs Again on WETA World for Pride Month

The work of Assistant Professor of Theatre – Lighting Design Andrew Carson, M.F.A.,on the Grammy Award-winning choral group Conspirare’s production of “Considering Matthew Shepard” on PBS, had another national airing this summer for Pride month on WETA World channel. Carson served as the piece’s lighting director. The production is based on the story of University of Wyoming teenager Matthew Shepard who became a national figure in 1998 after he was beaten and left for dead for being gay. His story inspired this 100-minute oratorio which has been adapted into a unique 60-minute theatrical experience for television.
