Theatre Students Experience London on GEL Trip

Twelve theatre students accompanied Assistant Dean for Student Learning and Professor of Theatre Carolyn Coulson, Ph.D., on the Global Experiential Learning (GEL) trip to London, from May 25 to June 7. They saw eight shows together (and numerous others on their own); toured the National Theatre, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace; attended the design exhibitions “Dressing the Georgians” and “From Crown to Couture”; experienced a directing workshop with U.K.-based director Ned Bennett; survived a Jack the Ripper tour; and met up with Joey Santangelo ’14 (Bachelor of Music in Performance (Voice)), who works as a costume maker in U.K. theatre and television.

“Contrary to popular myths, we did not experience any rain and discovered that London is a foodie paradise!” said Coulson.
