Mindful Musical Fundamentals for Tuba,” a book written by Stephanie Ycaza ’19 (Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance – Tuba), was recently published by Conway Publications. It contains 64 unique melodies that provide players with a mental, musical warm-up while utilizing their fundamental skills. The melodies offer a variety of key/mode, register, and stylistic challenges.

She previously held the position of instructor of tuba and euphonium at the University of Northern Iowa, and has also served on the music faculties of Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia State University, Longwood University, the University of Richmond, and Shenandoah University.
