Singer-songwriter and Entrepreneur Rebecca Loebe Engages Music Students

Acclaimed singer-songwriter and entrepreneur Rebecca Loebe met virtually with Shenandoah Conservatory music students on Oct. 10, engaging with participants in The Entrepreneurial Artist and capstone courses through guided Q&A sessions. A highly respected figure in the independent music scene, Loebe is celebrated for her powerful songwriting and sharp business acumen.

A founding member of the Austin-based band Nobody’s Girl and a successful solo artist, she has performed and toured with legends like Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Loebe gained international attention with her appearance on the first season of NBC’s “The Voice,” where her single “Come As You Are” charted globally. Loebe is a highly entrepreneurial artist who graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in music production and engineering. Her work has charted on the Americana Top 40 and Billboard Heatseekers charts, and her single “Growing Up” was featured in Rolling Stone. She offers a unique perspective combining high-level technical skills with sustained success as an independent recording and touring artist.

Loebe’s visit was coordinated by Interim Director of Contemporary Musicianship & Entrepreneur Development (CMED) and Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Jesse Terry, B.M.
