Bormet Releases New Album with Violinist Melinda Rice

Adjunct Associate Professor of Jazz Piano Amy Bormet, M.M., has released a new album, “Music Takes Us Everywhere,” in collaboration with violinist Melinda Rice. The recording reflects the duo’s long-distance artistic partnership, developed across multiple cities including Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Philadelphia. Drawn from a program originally presented at the Community Music School in Trappe, Pennsylvania, the album features a collection of original works and “sound postcards” inspired by the collaborators’ travels and shared musical experiences. Blending jazz, improvisation and storytelling, “Music Takes Us Everywhere” captures the spirit of connection that has defined their work over time and distance. The album is available on Bandcamp.
