Theatre Students Travel to London for GEL Trip

Twenty theatre students travelled to London for two weeks in May with Associate Dean for Faculty & Academic Affairs and Professor of Theatre Carolyn Coulson, Ph.D., and Adjunct Instructor of Theatre Kit Wilder, B.A. In addition to attending a wide range of theatrical productions, students immersed themselves in the rich artistic and cultural landscape of London and Stratford-upon-Avon. Their itinerary included behind-the-scenes tours of the National Theatre and Theatre Royal Drury Lane, visits to the British Museum, Wallace Collection and Victoria and Albert Museum, and post-performance discussions with artists following two productions. Many students also had the opportunity to speak informally with actors after performances, gaining additional insight into the profession. Highlights of the trip included “War Horse” at the National Theatre, “Mother Courage and Her Children” at Shakespeare’s Globe, “Flush” at Arcola Theatre and “Equus” at Menier Chocolate Factory.
