Shenandoah University, Henan College Of Transportation Welcome New Cohort To Joint EIET Program
SU, HCT celebrated 140 newly admitted students to the three-year program

Shenandoah University and Henan College of Transportation welcomed the Class of 2029 to the Sino-U.S. Joint Education Electronic Information Engineering Technology Certificate Program during convocation in September.
Yvonne Chen, Ph.D., Dean of SU Asia, led the Shenandoah delegation at the in-person ceremony. Representatives from HCT’s Office of Research and International Affairs and Department of Transportation Information Engineering, faculty members and nearly 140 newly admitted students attended convocation.
Launched in 2025, the dual-credential certificate in EIET is a three-year program hosted at HCT’s East Campus in Zhengzhou, China. Students who successfully complete the program earn a three-year junior college degree from HCT and a Certificate in EIET from Shenandoah University. With the addition of the Class of 2029, the program now serves nearly 280 students.

During September’s convocation, Dr. Chen thanked Henan College of Transportation for its extensive preparation and partnership and congratulated the incoming students. Student representatives were presented with SU ID cards, emphasizing the schools’ shared commitment to providing a high-quality international educational experience.
The joint program brings together educational strengths from China and the United States, combining academic instruction, global perspectives and hands-on practical training. The program is designed to help students build strong professional foundations, broaden their international outlook, and strengthen the knowledge and skills needed for future careers. The partnership also supports continued faculty exchange and academic collaboration between the two institutions.
In conjunction with convocation, the Shenandoah University delegation met with HCT’s Department of Transportation Information Engineering to discuss program implementation, faculty development, and student support. The two institutions reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining strong academic standards and the high-quality operation of the program.
Shenandoah University and Henan College of Transportation will continue to build on their respective strengths to prepare technically skilled graduates with strong professional capabilities and a global perspective while advancing educational exchange and collaboration between China and the United States.
