Professional Highlights:
I was born in Roanoke Virginia and I have always lived in Virginia. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and then attended PA school at the Jefferson College of Health Sciences. After graduating from PA school I began my career working in interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery. I completed my MPAS at the University of Nebraska and subsequently my DMSc at the University of Lynchburg. After working several years in Cardiac Surgery in Roanoke, I moved to northern Virginia and took a position in critical care at Inova Health System. While working at Inova Health System I served as the chief APP for the critical care service for approximately 8 years and then as the medicine service line APP director for 2 years. For the past 3 years I have served as the System APP Director for Inova Health System in Northern Virginia. I also currently serve as a director at large on the board of directors for the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants where I am also the chair of the government affairs committee as well as a delegate on the House of Delegates for VAPA.
Personal Highlights:
I am married and have 3 kids, a son who is a senior at Virginia Tech, a daughter who is a freshman at Virginia Tech, and another daughter who is in high school. My wife is a reading specialist for Loudoun County and we reside in Ashburn. In my spare time, I am a pilot with Civil Air Patrol where I participate in homeland security, search and rescue, and disaster relief missions. I am also a certified flight instructor and I give flight instruction part-time at Aero Elite flight school in Leesburg. I have been an adjunct professor with Shenandoah University for the past year. I look forward to meeting and working with you all!
