Professional History
Dr. Middleton is a Professional School Counselor and National Certified Counselor with experience in K-12 school counseling, wraparound services facilitation, clinical mental health counseling, and grant-funded school mental health initiatives. Prior to entering academia, he worked with youth and families in school- and community-based settings.
Research
Research interests include school counselors’ capacity to address the social determinants of health and mental health, counselor empowerment, and school mental health. Ultimately, his work seeks to position counselors as agents of systemic change who improve outcomes for students, families, and communities.
Personal Highlights
Originally from South Carolina, I enjoy music, singing, dancing, connecting with family and friends, and spending time in nature.
