Senior Dance Students Travel to Los Angeles for Professional Development

Through student organization fundraising efforts, ShenCo Phoenix (the senior dance class of 2022) embarked on a professional development trip to Los Angeles, California, to spend a week studying with professionals in the commercial and contemporary industry. The trip was curated by Adjunct Assistant Professor of Dance Tiffanie Carson, M.F.A. Eleven dancers took classes at notable L.A. dance studios such as Millennium Dance Complex and TMilly Studio, as well as personal workshops and masterclasses with guest artists and companies in the area. Trip highlights included a masterclass with internationally acclaimed dancer, choreographer and creative director Brian Friedman and a personal workshop with LA Contemporary Dance Company, a leader in the Los Angeles performing arts community.
