The Leadership and Mentoring Program (LAMP) is a collaborative partnership, initiated in 2015, between the Harry. F. Byrd Jr., School of Business, Community, Corporations, Companies, Industries, Faculty and most important, students. The purpose of the program is to create platforms for student professional and personal growth as it relates to merging theoretical constructs with the business industry. This program connects and bridges the gap that sometimes occurs between the academy and the industry. LAMP provides a support system where ideas and professional experience can be exchanged in a nurturing and healthy environment. Students are encouraged to leverage LAMP mentors for career guidance, leadership development, career exploration and professional individual sponsorship.
The Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business is actively pursuing its vision to become recognized as a provider of individualized business education driven by entrepreneurial thinking, global understanding, and ethical practice.
The Byrd Distinguished Lecture Series was established in 1983 to provide a forum for the presentation, consideration and discussion of critical issues on the local, regional, national and international scene. This series provides students in the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business the opportunity to hear and question some of the most interesting business, social, educational and governmental leaders of the day.
