Studio Big Band Performs at Jazz Education Network Conference in Florida

The Studio Big Band was selected to perform at the Jazz Education Network‘s annual conference in Orlando, Florida, in January during the holiday break. Ensemble members performed with Ashlin Parker ’05 (Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies); special guest Mike Tomaro; Auxiliary Adjunct Associate Professor of Jazz and Trumpet Craig Fraedrich, M.M.; Adjunct Assistant Professor of Jazz Piano Eric Byrd, M.M., M.A.; and Adjunct Associate Professor of Jazz Percussion Alphonso Young, M.M.

Other Shenandoah University alumni were able to network with the students at the Shenandoah University reception following a feature concert during the conference. The band was able to attend concerts, masterclasses and clinics presented by educators and performers from across the country.
