On March 2, Stephen Gober III (AS ’98) was selected by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society to be an assistant athletic trainer for Team Czech Republic in the World Baseball Classic. 

On March 19, Kenny Robertson (AS ’10) announced his candidacy for Fairfield County Council District 1 in South Carolina.

Ryan Griffiths (HP ’12) co-founded Pursue Movement Strength & Mobility Development, a veteran-owned business focused on injury rehabilitation and strength training, in Peterborough, New Hampshire. (pictured right)

Matt Edwards (C ’15) led a voice pedagogy workshop for the Treasure Valley chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) in collaboration with Boise State University, conducted an online masterclass for the Voice Division at Ohio University, and coached the Singing Sergeants of the United States Air Force Band at Joint Base Anacostia–Bolling in commercial and musical theatre vocal styles.

On March 26, Taylor Bloom (C ’17) was cast as Russ Thornhill in the NBC drama pilot Protection.

Nick Lenz (C ’17) has been chosen as one of only 10 educators nationwide to join the inaugural cohort of the Creative Direction Credential Program, a new collaboration between Point Park University and HXOUSE. 

Mathilde Handelsman (C ’20) was appointed assistant professor of piano performance at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

On March 24, Jennifer DiMarco (E ’18, ’22) was appointed principal of Garland R. Quarles Elementary School in Winchester Public Schools in Winchester, Virginia.

On March 13-15, Andy Espinoza (AS ’23) participated in a Q&A panel at the 2026 Awesome Con Film Festival for his short film “Exploring the Frame.”

Nathan Diaz (C ’24) joined the original company of the new musical “Basura,” which premiered at Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Pearson (C ’25) conducted research at McGill University in Canada as a member of the Roy Pain Lab, working under the mentorship of Dr. Mathieu Roy. Their work focused on the neurological mechanisms of pain and the role of music in supporting individuals experiencing chronic pain.

Alumni Passings

Sue C. Robinson (B ’85)o f Winchester, Virginia, passed away on March 20, 2026. She worked at Shenandoah University for 40 years and served as Box Office manager for the Conservatory and business manager of the Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre. (pictured right)

Faculty/Staff Passings

John Tobias Jacobs of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on March 28, 2026. He served for over 40 years as a professor of English and American Literature at Shenandoah University and was later named Professor Emeritus.

James Edward Randall of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on March 11, 2026. He served Shenandoah University for more than 25 years as computer network administrator.
