Welcome from Dr. Chen
Welcome to the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business at Shenandoah University. At the Byrd School, we prepare you to be an effective and transformative global business leader, ready to embrace changes and turn challenges into opportunities. China and the United States, being the two largest economies of the world, are interdependent economic symbionts. As these two countries continue to deepen their economic and business ties, successful executive leaders need to have the perspectives and intimate knowledge of these economies. With this shifting global trend in mind, we create the GET-MBA Shanghai program to bring together experts from the East and West to educate the next generation of transformative global leaders. The veteran faculty experts from both American and Chinese universities will conduct face-to-face classroom learning. International executives and prominent corporate leaders will lead seminars during site visits. The cohort learning module fosters synergies and enhance networking for students.
Just as pressing as acquiring global perspectives, evolving and ever-increasing interconnection among various sectors and business operation calls for a need for leaders to be equipped with an innovative, integrative managerial skill set. Junior managers need to have intense training in key business disciplines, creative problem-solving, social media, and cultivating innovation. Strengthening one’s intelligence, both emotional and intellectual, and team-building skill is critical for those aspiring leaders. Senior executives require a wide breadth of working knowledge in multiple disciplines, but more importantly the general managerial skill to deal with those complex but often fundamental issues in today’s business world. Successful managers need to excel not only in solving, but identifying problems.
To continue to advance in their careers, individuals must know how to manage changes and learn continuously. In this program, we are looking for those with the ability and desire to learn. Our internationally accredited curriculum is rigorous and progressive— and provides learning of core business disciplines with an integrated approach while preparing students to be competent business leaders ready to tackle challenges, locally and globally, today and tomorrow. We also offer opportunities for individuals to immerse in their particular professional functions and subjects. Our graduates advance success of their careers in business, healthcare, technology, government, and non-profit organizations. I am confident that you will find our program a significant investment for your professional growth.
Please take your time to browse our page as well as the rest of the BSB website to see the exciting programs we offer. Shall you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
