The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program trains you to evaluate and treat people of all ages with communication disorders. These disorders can emerge from neurological conditions including strokes, traumatic brain injuries or developmental disabilities. The nation has a shortage of speech-language pathologists, which means professionals working in this rewarding field are in high demand. The MSSLP program at Shenandoah is predominantly in person at the Loudoun location in Leesburg, Virginia, with approximately 25% of coursework offered online.

Shenandoah’s weekday graduate program in occupational therapy prepares you to help clients reach their greatest level of quality of life and independence by serving as a caring and effective occupational therapist. Shenandoah University’s 75-credit, 2.5 year Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program is delivered in a flexible, hybrid format, with over 50% of the content delivered online. Students attend classes on campus one day per week at the Loudoun location in Leesburg, Virginia while fieldwork experiences are completed on non-campus days and during normal working hours.
Shenandoah’s weekend graduate program in occupational therapy prepares you to help clients reach their greatest level of quality of life and independence by serving as a caring and effective occupational therapist. Shenandoah’s 75-credit Master of Science in Occupational Therapy is delivered in a flexible, hybrid format, with over 50% of the content delivered online. Students attend classes face-to-face at the Winchester campus approximately seven weekends over the semester (averaging up to two weekends a month).
Designed for practicing occupational therapists, the OTD program prepares you to become a leader, educator, advocate, and innovator in the profession. Through advanced coursework and a personalized capstone experience, you’ll gain the skills to address complex healthcare challenges, improve patient outcomes, and drive meaningful change in your community and workplace. The format is flexible, with students gaining foundational understanding via assigned reading, online lectures, virtual discussions, and projects. Students also benefit from hands-on practice that emphasizes the synthesis of occupational therapy theory, evidence, and its application to clinical practice during in-person classes.
The Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) program is designed to prepare physician assistants (PAs) with the advanced skills needed in today’s dynamic healthcare environment as doctorally prepared clinicians. This program is online and asynchronous. The focus of this clinical doctorate program is to advance students’ knowledge in healthcare science, evidence-based practice, health equity, and leadership.
Through integrated coursework and supervised experiential learning in Shenandoah’s Nutrition & Dietetics program, you’ll develop the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies needed to serve diverse populations and address today’s most pressing nutrition and health challenges. Your program will include not only a capstone course, but also supervised practice, food experimentation labs, nutrition assessment and interviewing practice, and experiential learning opportunities. The program is located in the Health Professions Building on the campus of Valley Health | Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia. This program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
The school counseling program prepares students to become professional school counselors equipped to support the academic, career and personal/social development of children and adolescents in PreK-12 educational settings. Through a comprehensive curriculum covering counseling theory, counseling techniques, and child and adolescent development, students gain the knowledge and skills necessary for effective school counseling practice. Students will engage in practicum and fieldwork requirements focused on developing their counseling orientation and theory. This program is located at the Winchester Main Campus.
The Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling program prepares students to practice counseling competently. Coursework introduces ethical and legal foundations of counseling and diverse content to work with varied clientele and diagnoses. Students develop their theoretical orientation through coursework, practicum and internships. The program includes core classes and clinical classes to provide students the knowledge and skills to deliver individual and group counseling services grounded in evidence-based practices. This program is located in the Health Professions Building on the campus of Valley Health | Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.

Our nationally recognized pharmacy program offers several degree pathways and students have the choice to study online and at our campus in Winchester Virginia, just 1 hour west of D.C.
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN): Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program is designed to provide nurses with the necessary education, competencies, and experiences to assume the role of a primary health care provider in a variety of clinical settings. Didactic and clinical course content focuses on the assessment and management of health promotion and health maintenance strategies, risk reduction, common acute and chronic alterations in health status for individuals and families across the lifespan. The MSN-FNP is a seven-term (2.5 year) program. This program is offered in a fully online format with weekly synchronous class meetings. An immersion experience will be required during the fall term at the Winchester main campus. The FNP degree requirement is 47 total credit hours with approximately 600 clinical hours of clinical practicum.
Shenandoah’s MSN in Nurse-Midwifery program prepares you for a rewarding advanced practice nursing occupation, providing you with the framework to promote physiologic birth and affirm the power and strength of individuals while addressing their general health. This program is offered in a fully online format with weekly synchronous class meetings. The NM degree requirement is 46 total credit hours with approximately 720 clinical hours of clinical practicum. Students attend an immersion each fall and spring term of the clinical year at the Winchester main campus. During this time, students learn to perform skills necessary to practice as a midwife, including water birth, intrapartum emergencies, physiologic birth support, well-women exams, and suturing. Students also learn the nuances of midwifery care, such as listening to clients, providing equitable care, using share-decision making and more.
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN): Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program consists of didactic and clinical course content essential to providing psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups within hospital and community settings. The PMHNP program also provides the nurse with the necessary skills regarding differential diagnosis and health promotion, for the psychiatric mental health patient across the lifespan. The specialty also consists of didactic and clinical course content essential to provide psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups within hospitals and the community settings. The MSN-PMH is a 7-term (2.5 year ) program. This program is offered in a fully online format with weekly synchronous class meetings. An immersion experience will be required during the fall term at the Winchester main campus. The PMHNP degree requirement is 46 total credit hours with approximately 600 clinical hours of clinical practicum.
The Post-Graduate DNP program is open to all advanced practice registered nurses (nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, clinical nurse specialists, and certified registered nurse anesthetists) who hold a master’s degree and are nationally certified as an APRN (NP, CNS), CNM or CRNA. The program consists of 33 credit hours and 540 clinical hours. This program is offered in a fully online asynchronous format. Clinical placement is a collaborative process between the student and the faculty. Alumni are eligible for a tuition discount.
