Mental Health Emergencies
As of August 2020, all counseling appointments are conducted virtually.
Mental health emergencies (this does not include life threatening emergencies) which occur during office hours can be handled by contacting the Wellness Center at 540-665-4530. This should be done prior to sending the student over to our center’s waiting location at Cooley Hall room 302. Then the student is permitted to wait in the relaxation room, until the student can be seen. In the event of an emergency after office hours, contact the Office of Public Safety at (540) 678-4444. Public Safety will contact the Counselor on-call for the appropriate response. If the situation is life threatening, please call 911 and /or go to the nearest Emergency Room, which is Winchester Medical Center, 1840 Amherst Street, (540) 536-8000.
