Hello!
Tis the season to be thankful! I can hardly believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. 2020 has seemed like the slowest year but the days are surely flying by. What are you thankful for? I am thankful for my family and friends this season. I am thankful each day that we are safe and well.
For many, it is a challenge to find joy. My husband and I decided we needed a little more joy, so we started decorating our home for the holidays much earlier than we normally do! Since November 1, I have been drinking my morning coffee from my favorite holiday mug and I listen to holiday music on my way into the office! I make no apologies – I need more joy!
We ventured out to dinner tonight and drove by the main campus in Winchester. The campus is beautiful with holiday decorations! The trees are lit with sparkling lights – soon wreaths will adorn buildings and holiday trees will appear inside buildings. When we left the restaurant, snow was blowing, and it really felt like the holidays were near. We normally start our Christmas season with the annual Holiday Gala at SU. It will be presented a bit differently this year in a virtual format, but I look forward to the video performances that Shenandoah Conservatory has created!
My wish is that you can celebrate Thanksgiving with your families and friends. My family will be gathering at our daughter’s house this year. For the first time, we will attempt to deep fry our turkey! Please pray that all goes well, and the turkey fry is a success! If it is an epic fail, we have plenty of sides and desserts!
I hope you and your families are safe and well!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Best,
