Welcome Home!
I knew I could not avoid the return to school and here it is – time for my social media feeds to explode with all the first day of school pictures with the cute signs and adorable children. Just as cute are the pictures of the parents in an empty home and a glass of bubbly (smile).
There is a certain energy that the return to campus brings – for some students it is the excitement of the first year of college and for others the first day of their last year of school. There is excitement to see friends, colleagues and others on campus who exude the feeling of home that we associate with Shenandoah. It is the experiential learning, the sharing of ideas and philosophies, growing, laughing, praying, and breaking bread together that enriches our body, minds, and souls. This is Shenandoah!
On Wednesday, Aug. 24, we welcome home to Shenandoah, descendants of the stars. Enjoy the choral family at Shenandoah University—the Conservatory Choir, Shenandoah Chorus, Cantus, and the Shenandoah Singers— as they celebrate the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley by performing the eponymous folk song “Oh Shenandoah.”
Warm regards,
Anne
