Shenandoah University offers a Study Skills course (STSK 101) available to all undergraduate students at Shenandoah University.
The course is designed to meet the needs of students who may need academic support. Students who are considered “at-risk” or are Conditionally Admitted to the university are enrolled in the course their first semester. The course is designed to provide opportunities for students to learn and apply methods that facilitate academic and social success. Student success depends on students having particular skills, the ability to manage time effectively, and an understanding of their role in the university.

At the completion of this course, the student will:
Manage their time more effectively
Be able to apply effective study habits
Have acquired critical thinking skills
Learn to recognize, recall and apply study skills in new situations
Plan and implement effective test taking strategies
Understand the importance of academic and career planning
Understand the importance of maintaining good health and wellness
Have an awareness of diversity and differences that exist among people
Have knowledge of the SU offices and resources available to assist them in becoming successful lifelong learners
